SAGA Metals Corp. (TSXV: SAGA) has announced the completion of a four-hole, 1,010-metre HQ-diameter diamond drill program at the Trapper North zone of its Radar Titanium-Vanadium-Iron Project near Cartwright, Labrador. The program was designed to recover large-diameter core samples to supply metallurgical test work, including concentrate production for downstream pilot study testing associated with PEA/PFS-level evaluation. The HQ core diameter of 63.5 mm provides approximately 1.8 times the core mass per metre compared to the NQ core used in the company's earlier mineral resource estimate drilling, making it better suited to the sample volumes required for pilot-scale processing work.
Key Points
- SAGA Metals Corp. (TSXV: SAGA | OTCQX: SAGMF | FSE: 20H)
- Four HQ drill holes — R-0096, R-0097, R-0100, and R-0101 — completed in October 2026, totalling 1,010 metres at Trapper North
- R-0096 logged 259.9 metres of oxide units; R-0097 logged 125.9 metres — assays are pending for all four holes
- Investors may be watching for assay results and Stage 2 bench-scale metallurgical optimisation outcomes with Temas Resources Corp.
Four HQ Holes Target Heart of Trapper North Oxide Body
The four holes were collared on drill sections N09, N10, and N11, with three sited on existing mineral resource estimate drill pads. Holes R-0096, R-0097, and R-0100 were drilled at approximately −80 degrees and R-0101 at −70 degrees, all with oriented core. The program was deliberately centred within the portion of Trapper North drilled on 100-metre sections during the earlier 85-hole, 22,432-metre MRE program completed in August 2026, to ensure the HQ core is representative of the oxide ore body established by that resource definition campaign.
Early Logging Confirms Oxide Continuity at Trapper North
Geological logging of R-0096 and R-0097 is complete, with both holes intersecting the semi-massive and rhythmic intercumulate oxide gabbronorite units hosting the titanomagnetite and ilmenite mineralisation at Trapper. R-0096 returned 259.9 metres of total logged oxide over its 341-metre length, including 222.5 metres of semi-massive oxide. R-0097 logged 125.9 metres of oxide over 161 metres, including 45.2 metres of semi-massive oxide. The company notes these are visual observations only and are not estimates of grade — assays for all four holes are pending.
RCL Metallurgical Process Advances Toward Pilot-Scale Evaluation
Processing of the Radar oxide mineralisation is being conducted by Temas Resources Corp. using its proprietary Regenerative Chloride Leach technology. The Stage 2 detailed bench-scale optimisation program is approximately halfway through its planned timeline and is testing two run-of-mine massive oxide samples side by side. The HQ core will subsequently be used to produce magnetic concentrate for downstream pilot study testing. Subject to successful completion of Phase 1 and company approval, Phase 2 would advance to a pilot study program expected to run over a 10-week period, with scope and budget to be established on Phase 1 completion.
