Sanu Gold Corp. (CSE: SANU) (OTCQB: SNGCF) has announced initial metallurgical test results from its Daina and Diguifara gold exploration properties in Guinea, West Africa, reporting average cyanide leach gold recoveries of 94% and 91%, respectively. The company tested 136 selected drill samples spanning oxide, transition, and fresh-rock material across both properties, with 135 samples returning valid results. Sanu Gold, which operates within the Siguiri Basin and is targeting multi-million-ounce gold discoveries across three properties in Guinea, states the preliminary findings indicate a high proportion of cyanide-soluble gold. The results are described by the company as supportive of further, more detailed metallurgical testwork.
Key Points
- Sanu Gold Corp. (CSE: SANU / OTCQB: SNGCF) explores gold properties in Guinea, West Africa
- Initial cyanide leach testwork on 136 drill samples from Daina and Diguifara returned arithmetic mean calculated gold recoveries of 94.0% and 91.2%, respectively
- Recoveries remained high across all tested weathering categories (oxide, transition, fresh rock) and across head-grade ranges at both properties; results are described as broadly comparable to previous initial cyanide leach results at the company's Bantabaye property, which returned average recoveries of 92% to 93%
- Investors may be watching whether the company advances to detailed composite testwork covering grindability, leach kinetics, and reagent consumption as outlined in the release
Cyanide Leach Recovery Results Across Daina and Diguifara Sample Sets
At Daina, all 45 submitted samples produced valid results, with an arithmetic mean calculated gold recovery of 94.0%. Recoveries across the three calculated head-grade ranges tested were 94.6%, 94.6%, and 93.2% for samples below 0.25 g/t gold, from 0.25 to 0.50 g/t gold, and above 0.50 g/t gold, respectively. Across weathering categories at Daina, recoveries ranged from 93.8% to 94.2%. At Diguifara, 90 of 91 submitted samples were valid, with one excluded due to an invalid residue result. The arithmetic mean calculated gold recovery at Diguifara was 91.2%, with recoveries by weathering category ranging from 90.1% to 92.3%. The release notes the results are broadly comparable in magnitude to the company's previous initial cyanide leach results at Bantabaye, though it cautions that the programs used different analytical protocols.
Sample Geology and Laboratory Methodology at Both Properties
Samples submitted from Daina were collected from the Daina 1 South, Daina 2, Daina 2 South, and Salat prospects, which extend along trends up to nine kilometres long, with mineralisation occurring in deformed turbiditic sedimentary and altered felsic intrusive rocks. Diguifara samples came from the DIG 1, DIG 2, and DIG 3 prospects along an approximately seven-kilometre trend, with mineralisation hosted in volcaniclastic and sedimentary rocks along shear zones. All samples were submitted to MSALABS — described in the release as an internationally recognised, independent commercial laboratory — for Bulk Leach Extractable Gold analysis. The method used a one-kilogram sample for cyanide leaching, with gold in the leach solution determined by atomic absorption spectroscopy and residual gold in the leach residue determined by fire assay.
Active Drilling Update and Scope of Planned Metallurgical Follow-Up
The release discloses that since the company's May 20, 2026 exploration update, Sanu Gold has completed approximately 5,200 metres of RC drilling across Daina, Bantabaye, and Diguifara. At Daina, 42 RC holes totalling 4,185 metres were completed through to the date of the announcement, with drilling ongoing. Seven RC holes totalling 816 metres were completed at Bantabaye South prior to the wet season. At Diguifara, RC drilling recently recommenced at Target 5, with three holes totalling 201 metres completed. The company states that planned follow-up metallurgical testwork will include comminution and cyanidation testing using representative composite samples, designed to evaluate grind response, leach kinetics, and reagent consumption across the principal geological and weathering domains at each property.
