Super Copper Corp. (CSE: CUPR) announced on September 8, 2026, that it has commenced a Phase 2 geophysics program — comprising induced polarization and resistivity surveys — at its 100%-owned Castilla Project in Chile's Atacama region. The program follows completed drone magnetic and hyperspectral surveys that identified kilometre-scale alteration patterns and quartz-magnetite-copper vein systems at surface. The Phase 2 campaign is designed to define ranked, geophysically supported drill targets, a milestone investors in early-stage copper exploration are likely to watch closely.
Key Points
- Super Copper Corp. (CSE: CUPR | OTCQB: CUPPF | FSE: N60) is a Vancouver-based copper exploration company.
- Phase 2 IP and resistivity surveys have commenced at the Castilla Project, located approximately 90 km south of Copiapo, Chile.
- The program covers twelve lines totalling approximately 22 line-kilometres across six vein-hosted priority target areas; survey duration is estimated at approximately 20 days, with initial results expected in October 2026.
- Investors should watch for the integrated drill-target ranking to be generated from IP, magnetic vector inversion, and hyperspectral data.
IP Survey Design and Technical Scope at Castilla
The Phase 2 program comprises twelve pole-dipole IP lines, each approximately 1.8 to 1.9 km in length, oriented perpendicular to dominant vein trends across six priority target areas identified from 2023 and 2025 rock sampling and the 2026 drone magnetic survey. The deep-penetrating configuration uses 50-metre dipoles expanded through up to 20 separations, providing an effective depth of investigation on the order of several hundred metres. A gradient array test is also planned over the first vein target to compare efficiency against the pole-dipole method. Line count and length may be extended as results are received.
Building on Phase 1 Results and Surface Sampling at Castilla
Phase 1 geophysics delineated kilometre-scale magnetic bodies and alteration zones consistent with an iron oxide copper-gold model. Surface sampling previously returned a result of 53.8 g/t Au in one of the six target areas now being prioritised in Phase 2. The IP survey's chargeability and resistivity data will be inverted in 2D and merged with the company's existing 3D magnetic vector inversion model and hyperspectral alteration mapping to produce a consolidated drill-target ranking. The survey is being conducted by Argali Geofisica EIRL of Antofagasta under the supervision of APEX Geoscience Ltd.
CEO Commentary on Drill-Target Strategy
CEO Zachary Dolesky stated that Phase 1 geophysics provided the architectural framework at Castilla, identifying kilometre-scale bodies consistent with the IOCG model under evaluation. The release states he described IP as the tool that reveals which surface vein systems connect to potential sulphide mineralisation at depth. The company's stated approach is to survey all six target areas simultaneously so that it enters its first drill programme at Castilla with ranked, geophysically supported targets. The technical content in the release was reviewed and approved by Michael Dufresne, MSc, P.Geo., president of APEX Geoscience, a qualified person under National Instrument 43-101.
