West High Yield (W.H.Y.) Resources Ltd. (TSXV: WHY) has received an Occupant Licence to Cut and Remove (OLTC) from the British Columbia Ministry of Forests, marking another major regulatory milestone at its Record Ridge Industrial Mineral Mine Project near Rossland, British Columbia. The OLTC authorises the company to cut, deck, and remove Crown timber within an approximately 50.062-hectare licence area, enabling site preparation activities ahead of construction. The authorisation follows the company's BC Mines Act permit issued in October 2025 and a highway access permit granted in June 2026, reinforcing steady permitting progress investors may be watching closely.

- The company received an Occupant Licence to Cut and Remove from the BC Ministry of Forests for its Record Ridge Industrial Mineral Mine Project
- The OLTC covers an approximately 50.062-hectare licence area; the company must satisfy pre-disturbance requirements, including posting remaining reclamation security, before commencing timber clearing

OLTC Completes Another Layer of British Columbia Permitting for Record Ridge
The OLTC is the third significant provincial authorisation the company has secured for the Record Ridge project, joining the BC Mines Act permit from October 2025 and the Ministry of Transportation and Transit's access permit from June 2026. Together, these authorisations represent substantial progress through British Columbia's regulatory framework. The OLTC specifically enables timber clearing and ground preparation activities within the designated licence area, which are prerequisites for physical construction. The company noted that applicable pre-disturbance requirements under the existing Mines Act permit must be satisfied before ground disturbance can commence.
Pre-Construction Workstreams Advancing Alongside Regulatory Process
In parallel with permitting, West High Yield states it is advancing multiple workstreams to support project development. These include pre-construction planning with Skemxist Solutions and other contractors, detailed engineering and mine development planning, metallurgical pilot testing, project financing initiatives, and commercial activities. The company is also progressing technical work to support the next stage of engineering, as well as longer-term plans for downstream processing and value-added magnesium production. The release states these activities are being advanced concurrently with the remaining regulatory requirements under BC's Environmental Management Act.
Osoyoos Indian Band Partnership Remains Central to Record Ridge Development
West High Yield acknowledged the continued support of the Osoyoos Indian Band and affirmed its commitment to advancing the project in partnership with OIB and Skemxist Solutions. The company states it continues to work collaboratively with government agencies, Indigenous communities, local stakeholders, and project partners. The Record Ridge deposit, located approximately 10 kilometres southwest of Rossland, BC, contains a Measured and Indicated mineral resource of 43.0 million tonnes at an average magnesium grade of 24.61%, corresponding to approximately 10.6 million metric tonnes of contained magnesium, based on a 2013 NI 43-101 Preliminary Economic Assessment by SRK Consulting (Canada) Inc.
