Apple Posts September Quarter Highs for Sales, Net Income and EPS
Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) disclosed fiscal fourth-quarter numbers on Nov 2, 2026, covering the span that ended Sep 26, 2026. Sales advanced 12% to $114.5 billion, a September quarter high, despite Supply limits affecting iPhone, Mac and iPad, plus currency effects that cut nearly 2 percentage points sequentially.
Profit reached $30.7 billion, and diluted EPS of $2.10 beat the year-earlier $1.85. Excluding tariff refunds, net income and EPS would still have been September quarter bests.
Gross Margin came in at 47.9%, roughly one point of which came from tariff refunds. Operating expenses climbed 21%, landing at $19.2 billion.
Mac Climbs 24% While iPad and Wearables Lose Ground
Revenue from iPhone climbed 17%, reaching $57.6 billion, and the active installed base hit a fresh high. Mac revenue leapt 24% to $10.8 billion, aided by the MacBook Neo and MacBook Pro lines, and set records in India and Southeast Asia.
iPad revenue declined 10% to $6.2 billion, reflecting tight supply and a hard comparison with the prior year's product debut. Wearables, Home and Accessories dropped 8%, landing at $8.3 billion, after a strong year-earlier launch.
Services reached an all-time peak, with video, cloud, payments and Advertising each setting records; bringing in $31.6 billion, up 10%. Services gross margin improved 40 basis points sequentially to 76%, and paid subscriptions surpassed 1.5 billion.
Greater China Gains 21% in the Quarter, Fiscal Year Totals $478.8 Billion
Greater China revenue grew 21% to $17.5 billion, another quarterly record. For the entire fiscal year, the region rose 28%, mainly due to iPhone and Mac.
Annual sales hit a peak of $478.8 billion, a 15% jump from $416.2 billion, and the year's net income came in at $132.2 billion. Full-year diluted EPS of $8.98 stands against $7.46 previously, a 20% rise.
For the year, the company generated $145.1 billion of operating cash, and $28.1 billion during the quarter. At period end, Apple held $137 billion in cash and securities, versus $80 billion of debt. Capital returned during the quarter totaled $28 billion: $24 billion in repurchases and $3.9 billion in dividends.
Memory Expenses Drive the December Quarter Margin Range to 45% to 46%
Apple expects December quarter revenue to rise 7% to 10%, which management called its best outlook given constrained supply and the strongest revenue period in company history. Services should increase 8% to 9%, with third-party licensing and currency weighing on it sequentially.
The 45% to 46% gross margin view reflects mostly memory costs, described as unprecedented, plus expenses connected to the Siri AI rollout. Operating expenses are forecast at $20.4 billion to $20.8 billion, an 11% to 13% increase, and the tax rate should sit near 17%. The projection presumes current tariff rules hold.
The directors authorized a $0.27-per-share cash payout, scheduled for Nov 16, 2026, to holders on the books as of Nov 12, 2026. Upcoming results should reveal supply trends and how memory pricing shapes margins.
