Sales Climb $44.1 Million as Auto and Home Lines Both Expand
EverQuote (NASDAQ:EVER) published third-quarter findings on Nov 2, 2026, for the span ending Sep 30, 2026. Top-line growth of 25% produced $218.1 million, versus $173.9 million the year before, a result management described as above the upper boundary of its guidance. Based in Massachusetts, it runs an online marketplace connecting property and casualty shoppers with insurers.
Car insurance revenue expanded 21%, reaching $190.4 million, while the home and renters line jumped 70% to $27.7 million. Eight of the leading ten carriers spent more sequentially, a sign management read as widespread appetite. Variable Marketing Dollars, a non-GAAP figure representing revenue after traffic Acquisition costs, grew to $62.6 million, up from $50.1 million, and the variable marketing Margin reached 28.7%.
Year to date through nine months, revenue hit $604.0 million, against $497.2 million the prior year.
Profit Eases to $18.2 Million Even as Adjusted EBITDA Gains 41%
On a GAAP basis, Net Income landed at $18.2 million, which is $0.49 a diluted share, versus $18.9 million, or $0.50, the year before. The decline traced to a $7.3 million rise in income taxes and a one-off $4 million charge tied to ending an Advertising vendor contract. Operating income, however, improved to $23.9 million, up from $17.5 million.
Adjusted EBITDA rose 41%, landing at $35.5 million against $25.1 million previously. Cash operating costs, leaving out advertising outlays and some non-cash items, came to $27.2 million, a modest step up from Q2.
AI Shopping Platform Launch and Agentic Traffic Shape the Outlook for Q4 Margins
A standalone Brand for an AI-native insurance shopping product went live last week, built to interface with language model platforms and AI shopping agents. Apps for several AI platforms are also being released, pending each platform's review. Language model referrals still make up less than 1% of traffic, and agent-driven shoppers are an even smaller slice.
Management's Q4 framework puts Variable Marketing Dollars between $57.0 million and $60.0 million, while adjusted EBITDA should land in a $29.0 million through $32.0 million corridor, which equates to growth near 22% at the midpoint. Variable marketing margin should dip from the prior quarter, as emerging agentic channels convert less efficiently at the outset; Leadership considers Q4 a sensible jumping-off point for 2027.
Leadership also described carrier Underwriting as sound and anticipates that a soft insurance cycle will sustain demand. The company now sees its $1 billion yearly revenue target arriving in one to two years.
Cash-Rich, Debt-Free Balance Sheet Supports a Fresh $50 Million Repurchase Authorization
The quarter closed with $229.1 million of cash and zero debt, following $40.5 million of operating cash flow, up from $19.8 million a year earlier. Directors signed off on a new $50 million repurchase plan. The predecessor plan, finished in Q2, acquired 2.5 million shares at a total cost of $50 million. Fourth-quarter results will be measured against this outlook.
