Five Names Posting the Largest Bottom Lines This Season
This ranking covers five firms whose results came out on Nov 2, 2026, ordered by quarterly net income from largest to smallest. Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) leads comfortably with a $30.7 billion profit in its fiscal fourth quarter, versus $27.5 billion before.
Second place goes to Diamondback Energy (NASDAQ:FANG) with $1.603 billion, while Corebridge Financial (NYSE:CRBG) lands third at $1.44 billion attributable to common holders, and the list continues with Palantir (NASDAQ:PLTR) at $1.128 billion. Equitable Holdings (NYSE:EQH) comes in at about $1.121 billion, so the gap between the last two is roughly $7 million (calculated).
Comparisons are imperfect. Corebridge and Equitable each reported net income well above either their operating measures or the year-earlier result, and Corebridge's release omits total revenue. Apple reports on a fiscal calendar, and net income definitions differ slightly from company to company.
1. Apple: Breaking Down the $30.7 Billion Profit Across Sales, Margin and Costs
Apple's fiscal fourth quarter 2026 profit reached $30.7 billion, from Revenue of $114.5 billion, up 12%. Per-share diluted Earnings came to $2.10, versus $1.85 earlier, and that figure carried a $0.05 lift from Tariff refunds. Leadership noted that both profit and per-share earnings would still have set September quarter highs without that lift.
Gross margin landed at 47.9%, with about one percentage point of that coming from tariff refunds, while operating costs grew 21% to $19.2 billion. Full-year fiscal 2026 profit totaled $132.2 billion.
Shareholder payouts totaled $28 billion during the period, made up of $24 billion in Buybacks and $3.9 billion in dividends. Cash and marketable securities closed at $137 billion, set against $80 billion of debt. December quarter gross margin guidance sits at 45% to 46%, with higher memory costs cited as the driver.
2. Diamondback Energy: Oil Pricing and Output Support a $1.603 Billion Result
Attributable net income for the company climbed to $1.603 billion, which works out to $5.69 per diluted share, relative to $1.018 billion, which equaled $3.51, a year prior. Adjusted per-share earnings stood at $5.86. Sales reached $5.431 billion, and Operating Income more than doubled, landing at $2.5 billion.
Realized crude pricing reached $87.30 a barrel, compared with $64.60 twelve months back, and output held at 525 MBO/d, unchanged from the second quarter. Free Cash Flow reached $2.1 billion, with net Debt at $12.817 billion.
A 7.3% increase lifted the yearly base Dividend to $4.72 a share, and projected 2026 oil output was lifted to around 524 MBO/d, the level now expected for the year.
3. Corebridge: How Investment Gains and Derivative Shifts Shaped Results
Net income for common holders hit $1.44 billion, equal to $3.22 a diluted share, versus $144 million, or $0.27, a year before. Corebridge credited the jump mostly to positive net realized gains, among them shifts in embedded Derivatives linked to a funds withheld Reinsurance deal and in Market Risk benefits measured at fair value.
After-tax operating income on an adjusted basis reached $545 million, compared with $520 million earlier. Per-share operating earnings moved up to $1.22 versus $0.96, as diluted shares declined from 541 million to 447 million. Premiums and deposits fell 29%, landing at $8.8 billion.
Capital returned to holders totaled $295 million: $185 million through repurchases and $110 million through dividends. Leadership described its proposed combination with a fellow large insurer as moving forward through regulatory review.
4. Palantir: Commercial Revenue Overtakes Government Sales in a 96% Revenue Surge
On a GAAP footing, Palantir earned $1.128 billion for common stockholders, which is $0.44 a diluted share, against $475.6 million ($0.18) previously. Sales totaled $2.313 billion, rising 96%, and the net profit margin reached 49%.
Domestic commercial sales surged 148%, climbing to $984 million and surpassing the $953 million of U.S. government sales for the first time. The company also held $10.4 billion in cash plus Treasury holdings, after adjusted free cash flow of $1.216 billion.
Full-year 2026 revenue projections were lifted to between $8.530 billion and $8.534 billion, and management still anticipates positive GAAP operating income and net income in each quarter of this year.
5. Equitable Holdings: Actuarial Review and Operating Gains Reverse a $1.3 Billion Deficit
Equitable's net income was roughly $1.121 billion, equal to $4.05 a share, after a year-earlier Deficit of $1.3 billion, or $4.47 a share. Revenues climbed to $3.881 billion from $1.450 billion. The group pairs a retirement and protection insurance arm with a majority-owned investment manager and a web of financial advisers.
Operating earnings on a non-GAAP basis totaled $595 million ($2.13 a share), while the figure excluding notable items came to $554 million ($1.98 a share), which is 19% higher than last year. A yearly review of actuarial assumptions contributed $111 million to net income.
Shareholder returns during the quarter reached $320 million, which represents a 59% payout ratio. The company also closed the divestiture of its Employee Benefits unit on Oct 13, 2026.
Core Operations Versus Swing Items Across the Group
Combined net income for the quintet approximates $36.0 billion (calculated), with Apple's $30.7 billion roughly 5.8 times the rest put together (calculated). On a calculated basis, profit as a percentage of sales runs about 48.8% for Palantir, 29.5% for Diamondback and 26.8% for Apple; Corebridge is left out since its release shows no revenue.
Corebridge's Bottom Line runs about 2.6x its adjusted operating measure, which was $545 million after taxes (calculated), while Equitable's sits near 1.9 times non-GAAP operating earnings of $595 million (calculated). The distance between those figures indicates how much of each result stemmed from activity beyond routine operations.
Apple, Diamondback and Palantir offered more direct operating explanations within their write-ups, although definitions and reporting periods remain different.
What to Watch Next: Payout Schedules, Insurer Combination Review and Palantir's Fourth Quarter Range
Apple's $0.27 payout is set for Nov 16, 2026, while Diamondback's $1.18 quarterly distribution follows on Nov 19, 2026. Corebridge declared a $0.25 dividend, due Dec 31, 2026 for holders recorded on Dec 17, 2026, and its results call takes place on Nov 3, 2026.
Corebridge's combination is moving through regulators, while Equitable indicated its own Merger still aims to finish by the close of 2026, pending approvals. Palantir projected fourth quarter revenue between $2.649 billion and $2.653 billion; its results for that period come next, though the materials name no date.
