Key Highlights

  • Third-quarter Revenue reached USD 74.1 million, a leap from USD 2.9 million, and Papzimeos alone contributed USD 72.9 million.
  • Profit returned, with Net Income of USD 35.8 million, or USD 0.08 per diluted share, replacing a USD 146.3 million loss recorded a year before.
  • Operating profit of USD 38.7 million stands against a prior operating Deficit of USD 34.5 million, helped by a 46.4% drop in R&D spending to USD 6.6 million.
  • Receivables swelled to USD 96.5 million from USD 3.9 million at the start of the year, and cash plus short-term investments reached roughly USD 46.1 million (calculated).

Papzimeos Launch Converts a Loss Into Profit

Precigen (NASDAQ:PGEN) lodged its Quarterly Report on November 4, 2026, for the period ended September 30. Papzimeos received FDA approval in August 2025 as the first treatment for adults with recurrent respiratory papillomatosis, and sales began in late 2025. The drug brought in USD 72.9 million during the quarter and USD 147.6 million over nine months, a stretch in which total revenue reached USD 152.4 million. Net income landed at USD 35.8 million, or USD 0.08 per diluted share. The comparable prior-year figure is a loss attributable to common holders of USD 325.3 million, (USD 1.06 per share) that carried a USD 179.0 million non-cash deemed dividend. Before that dividend, the net loss was USD 146.3 million. Because the deemed Dividend sits inside the prior-year loss figure, the two profit measures are not directly comparable.

What Drove the Swing Beyond Product Sales

Several prior-year burdens did not recur. Other expense, net dropped to USD 2.7 million from USD 111.9 million, mostly because a USD 111.5 million charge tied to Warrant liabilities was absent this time. Research spending declined because production costs for Papzimeos now sit in inventory rather than the income statement, and SG&A decreased 6.8% to USD 22.4 million. The company warns that product costs will take a larger share of revenue now that pre-launch stock has largely been sold, which may squeeze margins. Cost of products and services rose to USD 6.5 million from USD 1.0 million. Nine-month net income totaled USD 47.9 million, even as SG&A grew 25.1% to support commercial efforts.

Cash Collections, Term Loan Capacity and Product Concentration

Operating cash flow turned positive at USD 11.9 million in the quarter, but over nine months it ran a USD 49.8 million deficit because shifts in operating Assets and liabilities absorbed USD 112.2 million, principally through larger receivables. Cash and equivalents amounted to USD 15.0 million, supplemented by USD 31.1 million of short-term and USD 4.9 million of long-term investments. Management anticipates that cash, investments and incoming collections will sustain operations for at least a year. A senior secured term loan of up to USD 125.0 million is available, with USD 100 million drawn in September 2025. Sales hinge almost completely on one product moving through a single wholesaler, and the filing flags demand, reimbursement and Manufacturing hazards alongside a pending European Marketing application.

Where Things Stand

Largely a function of one launch. Papzimeos delivered USD 72.9 million of the USD 74.1 million total, and the prior-year base was also depressed by a USD 111.5 million warrant charge. Precigen (NASDAQ:PGEN) reports that continuing operations turned profitable in the second quarter of 2026 and that Operating Cash Flow turned positive in the third. Investors should watch receivables collection, product costs as launch stock is consumed, the European decision and the redosing study.
