Bedford Metals Corp. (TSX-V: BFM, FWB: O8D) has unveiled its 2025 exploration strategy for the Sheppard Lake Uranium Project, situated in the southern Athabasca Basin of northern Saskatchewan. This expansive project combines the previously separate Ubiquity Lake, Cable Lake, and Sheppard Lake properties into a unified exploration target. Bedford is fully funding the program, which will include several phases aimed at advancing the property’s development.
The first phase of the program will focus on a 747-line kilometer MobileMT survey. This airborne geophysical survey utilizes the latest advancements in electromagnetic technology and AFMAG (audio-frequency magnetotellurics). The survey is designed to provide high-resolution geoelectrical data to depths of up to 1 kilometer, identifying magnetic breaks and subsurface conductors. This data will help delineate key areas for further exploration.
Phase 2 will expand on this by conducting detailed fieldwork across the entire 13,092-hectare property, including the newly acquired Cable Lake claims. The aim is to refine existing diamond drill targets and identify new potential zones for exploration. Key areas of interest include the TZ1, TZ2, and VTEM conductors, as well as radiometric anomalies identified in previous airborne surveys. Ground surveys will include systematic prospecting, radiometric surveys, and ground magnetometer studies, along with the deployment of radon gas cups to detect uranium mineralization.
The program will be carried out in two stages, with helicopter support for remote areas. Phase 3 will focus on high-priority exploration targets with diamond drilling to validate findings and advance the understanding of the property’s potential.
Peter Born, President of Bedford, expressed enthusiasm for the program’s launch, stating, “We are eager to advance the Sheppard Lake project with this robust exploration program. Our goal is to refine our drilling strategy and move the project forward with confidence."
