Capstone Copper Corp. (TSX:CS) is a mining company engaged in the exploration, development, and operation of mineral assets across the Americas. It currently runs active mines in the United States, Mexico, and Canada, while advancing development projects in Chile and Canada. Although copper is its primary commodity, the company also produces zinc, lead, molybdenum, silver, and gold.

Capstone Copper delivered markedly improved financials in the third quarter of 2025 (Q3 2025), with revenue up 42.7% on higher sulphide copper production and improved pricing. Adjusted EBITDA more than doubled, supported by higher low-cost output and reduced C1 cash costs. Net income surged 1444% due to better profitability and a significant impairment reversal at Santo Domingo. Operating cash flow also nearly doubled, driven by healthier earnings and a more efficient cost structure.

Recent Business Update

Capstone recently strengthened its growth outlook by approving the MV Optimized expansion, a capital-efficient project that increases throughput to 45,000 tpd and extends the mine life to 25 years. The expansion is designed to deliver low-risk, high-return incremental copper volumes and supports the company’s multi-year production growth strategy.

Company Outlook

Capstone heads into 2026 with improving operational momentum, supported by rising sulphide output at Mantoverde and Mantos Blancos, better recoveries, and expanding district-scale opportunities in Chile. With MV Optimized moving toward its 2026 integration, Santo Domingo nearing FID, and exploration programs confirming further resource upside, the medium-term trend points upward. While 2025 production may land near the lower end of guidance, the longer-term outlook remains constructive, driven by growing volumes, lower costs, healthier margins, and continued value-focused organic growth. The company is well placed to benefit from a tighter global copper market.
