Blackstone Inc (NYSE: BX)

Blackstone Inc. (NYSE: BX) is an alternative asset manager. Its asset management includes global investment strategies focused on real estate, private equity, infrastructure, life sciences, growth equity, credit, real assets, secondaries, and hedge funds.

As per previous Dividend Income Report published on ‘BX’ on January 16, 2026, Kalkine provided an ‘Buy’ stance on the stock at USD 143.43 based on fundamental analysis and the stock price has now moved up by ~ 13.99% since then and attained resistance 1 and resistance 2.

Noted below are the details of support and resistance levels provided in our previous report:

Rationale:

  • Revenue Miss Despite Earnings Outperformance: Although Blackstone’s Q3 2025 earnings per share exceeded expectations by 22.6% (reported USD 1.52 vs. forecast USD 1.24), the company recorded a revenue shortfall of 3.44%, with revenue of USD 3.09 billion against the forecast of USD 3.20 billion. This divergence between earnings and top-line performance signals that a significant portion of earnings strength was driven by non-operating factors such as realizations and performance fees rather than broad-based revenue expansion.
  • Stock Reaction and Pricing Metrics Reflect Market Skepticism: Despite the earnings beat, Blackstone’s stock experienced a 4.4% pre-market decline, with shares trading around USD 154.60, down from USD 161.72 at the prior close. According to InvestingPro data, the company trades at a P/E ratio of 42.87, which is materially higher than typical peer multiples in the financial sector, indicating elevated investor growth expectations that may be taxed by slower underlying revenue expansion.
  • Growth in AUM May Not Translate to Fee Growth: Blackstone reported a 12% year-over-year increase in total assets under management (AUM) to USD 1.242 trillion and a 14% increase in management fees to USD 2 billion. While these figures denote growth, the rate of AUM expansion has been outpaced by fee-related earnings increases in prior periods, suggesting that growth in asset scale is not uniformly translating into proportionate revenue growth across all fee categories.
  • Market Range and Volatility Indicators: The stock closed Q3 near USD 148.92, with an additional aftermarket dip of 0.95% to USD 147.50, despite robust distributable earnings of USD 1.9 billion (USD 1.52 per share). Shares remain well within their 52-week range of USD 115.66 to USD 200.96, highlighting persistent volatility and the inability of strong distributable earnings to narrow the trading range meaningfully.
  • Dependency on Performance and Realizations: Blackstone’s earnings performance in Q3 was supported by a nearly 50% increase in distributable earnings year over year, primarily due to expanded fee-related earnings and accelerated net realizations. However, such realizations are timing-sensitive and market-dependent; reliance on these episodic gains introduces variability into reported profitability, making forward projections for fee sustainability less predictable absent consistent deal execution and exit valuation environments.

Conclusion

Blackstone Inc (NYSE: BX) delivered a strong-looking Q3 2025 headline performance, marked by a sizeable EPS beat, record management fees, rising distributable earnings, and AUM growth to USD 1.24 trillion, supported by accelerating realizations and improving capital market activity. However, beneath these positives, the quarter also highlighted emerging fault lines, including a revenue miss versus expectations, continued dependence on market-driven realizations, and sensitivity to favorable macro and deal-cycle conditions. Management commentary emphasized optimism around a rebound in private equity exits, real estate recovery, and sustained fundraising momentum, yet much of this outlook remains contingent on declining interest rates, supportive equity markets, and regulatory stability. While scale, diversification, and brand strength clearly position Blackstone as an industry leader, elevated investor expectations, exposure to cyclical asset classes such as real estate and private credit, and reliance on episodic performance income introduce greater earnings variability and execution risk should market conditions normalize or weaken from current levels.

Based on the notional gains, valuation downside and price action stance, a "Sell" recommendation Blackstone Inc. (NYSE: BX) has been given at the closing market price of USD 163.50 as on 16 January 2026.
