Data#3 Limited (ASX: DTL)

Data#3 Limited (ASX: DTL) is an information technology (IT) services and solutions provider. It is focused on helping customers solve complex business challenges using technology solutions.

Recommendation Rationale – SELL at AUD 7.70

  • Overvalued Multiples: On a forward 12-month basis – key trading multiples (EV/EBITDA, P/E, and P/BV) are higher than the average of the Technology sector.
  • Trading Around Resistance:DTL’s share price surpassed its R1 level recommended on 15 April 2026. Therefore, share price can face resistance at the current levels.
  • Decline in Cash Balance: As of 31 December 2025, the company reported a cash balance of AUD 125.4 million, a decline from AUD 356.7 million as of 30 June 2025. Net cash outflow from operating activities in 1HFY26 was AUD 204.3 million, compared to an outflow of AUD 123.8 million in 1HFY25.
  • Emerging Risks: DTL operates in the technology sector, which can be volatile. Market fluctuations, technological advancements, and shifts in investor sentiment can all impact stock prices. Additionally, the company faces competition from other cloud networking firms as well as traditional telecommunications providers.

DTL Daily Chart

Valuation Methodology: P/E Approach (FY June'27E) (Illustrative)

Considering the ongoing investments in enterprise security, and digital transformation, disciplined cost control, YoY increase in top line in 1HFY26, etc., the company might trade at a slight premium to its peers. For valuation, few peers like Pureprofile Ltd (ASX: PPL), TechnologyOne Ltd (ASX: TNE), Kinatico Ltd (ASX: KPY), and others have been considered.

Considering that the stock has surpassed its R1 level, macroeconomic uncertainty, current trading level, and risks associated, the stock can face consolidation at the current levels. Hence, a ‘Sell’ recommendation is given on the stock at the current price of AUD 7.70, at 1:35 PM AEST, as of 23 April 2026.

Markets are trading in a highly volatile zone currently due to certain macro-economic issues and prevailing geopolitical tensions. Therefore, it is prudent to follow a cautious approach while investing.
