BCM Resources Corporation (TSXV: B) has announced the completion of diamond drill hole TK21 to a depth of 4,241 ft (1,293 m) at its 100% controlled Thompson Knolls project in Millard County, Utah, intersecting significant copper skarn mineralisation over approximately 1,000 ft (304.8 m). The company reports visual observations of disseminated chalcopyrite across multiple skarn intervals, with a sub-interval of roughly 460 ft (140 m) containing appreciable chalcopyrite exceeding 1% by volume. Assay results remain pending, but the visual findings are prompting the company to advance its next drill hole, TK22, from the same platform.
Key Points
- BCM Resources Corporation (TSXV: B) is a Canadian mineral exploration company focused on its Thompson Knolls porphyry copper-gold-silver-molybdenum project in Utah
- Drill hole TK21 completed to 4,241 ft (1,293 m), intersecting copper skarn mineralisation over approximately 1,000 ft (304.8 m) down-hole
- First copper mineralisation encountered at approximately 2,952 ft (900 m), continuing to approximately 3,952 ft (1,205 m); assay grades are not yet available
- Investors should watch for pending assay results from TK21 and TK20, and 3D geophysical models intended to guide Phase 5 drill program design
TK21 Drill Results Confirm Copper Skarn Continuity at Thompson Knolls
The completion of TK21 marks a key operational milestone for BCM Resources. The vertical hole was drilled from the same platform as the previously drilled TK5, which had intersected copper skarn mineralisation before being lost at 2,758 ft (840.6 m). TK21 reached bedrock at 1,867 ft (569 m) through fanglomerate cover before encountering brecciated and limonitised Guilmette limestones transitioning into Simonson dolomites and dolomitic marbles. The confirmed skarn intercept — including a massive sulphide interval containing pyrrhotite, pyrite, and chalcopyrite — is consistent with mineralisation patterns observed in earlier holes TK5 and TK8 to the west, the release states.
Hole Lost in Quartzite Before Reaching Pogonip Carbonate Target
At 4,086 ft (1,245.4 m), TK21 entered the Eureka quartzite formation, which exhibited discontinuous zones of sulphide mineralisation. The company attempted to drill through the quartzite to reach the underlying Pogonip carbonate formation to test for additional skarn potential, but difficult drilling conditions caused the hole to be abandoned at 4,241 ft (1,293 m). The release notes that drill core from TK21 is currently undergoing logging, sawing, and sampling, while assay results from the earlier hole TK20 remain pending due to laboratory backlogs and the need for multiple analytical techniques covering molybdenum, copper, gold, silver, and rhenium.
TK22 Drill Hole Targets Porphyry Copper Core and Proximal Skarn
Following TK21's completion, BCM Resources has commenced drilling of inclined hole TK22 from the same platform, oriented at an azimuth of 80° and an inclination of 75° directed toward hole TK20. The company states this orientation is designed to test for displaced porphyry copper core mineralisation and proximal skarn along the projected margin of the porphyry molybdenite core intersected in TK20. Separately, BCM's geophysical contractor is processing data from recently completed IP and magnetotelluric surveys to generate 3D subsurface models intended to guide the design of a Phase 5 drill program at Thompson Knolls.
