BCM Resources Corporation (TSXV: B) has announced the completion of diamond drill hole TK21 to a depth of 4,241 ft (1,293 m) at its 100% controlled Thompson Knolls project in Millard County, Utah, intersecting significant copper skarn mineralisation over approximately 1,000 ft (304.8 m). A sub-interval of approximately 460 ft (140 m) contains appreciable chalcopyrite exceeding 1% by volume. Assay results are still pending, but visual observations of disseminated chalcopyrite across multiple skarn intervals have been reported. Investors will be watching for assay results and the upcoming Phase 5 drill program.

Key Points

  • BCM Resources Corporation (TSXV: B) — Canadian mineral exploration company focused on the Thompson Knolls porphyry copper-gold-silver-molybdenum project
  • Drill hole TK21 completed to 4,241 ft (1,293 m), intersecting copper skarn mineralisation from approximately 2,952 ft to 3,952 ft depth
  • A sub-interval of approximately 460 ft (140 m) contains chalcopyrite exceeding 1% by volume; assays from TK21 and TK20 remain pending
  • Drilling of inclined hole TK22 from the same platform is set to commence, targeting displaced porphyry copper core and proximal skarn

TK21 Drill Results Confirm Copper Skarn Continuity at Thompson Knolls

BCM Resources reports that hole TK21 intersected mineralised copper skarn over a down-hole length of approximately 1,000 ft (304.8 m), with first copper mineralisation beginning at roughly 2,952 ft (900 m) in dolomitic marbles and continuing to approximately 3,952 ft (1,205 m). The company states that visual observations of disseminated chalcopyrite across multiple skarn intervals are consistent with intersections recorded in previously drilled holes TK8 and TK5 to the west, suggesting continuity of the skarn system. Core from TK21 is currently undergoing logging, sawing, and sampling ahead of laboratory analysis.

Hole Lost in Quartzite Before Reaching Pogonip Carbonate Target

At a depth of 4,086 ft (1,245.4 m), TK21 encountered the Eureka quartzite, which carried discontinuous zones of sulfide mineralisation. The company attempted to reach the underlying Pogonip carbonate formation to test for additional skarn mineralisation, but the hole was lost due to difficult drilling conditions in quartzite at 4,241 ft (1,293 m). This mirrors the earlier experience with hole TK5, which was similarly lost before reaching its intended target. Bedrock was first encountered at 1,867 ft (569 m) beneath fanglomerate cover.

TK22 Drilling and Geophysical Modelling to Guide Phase 5 Program

Following completion of TK21, BCM will immediately begin drilling inclined hole TK22 from the same platform, oriented at an azimuth of 80° and an inclination of 75° directed toward hole TK20. TK22 is designed to test for displaced porphyry copper core mineralisation and proximal skarn along the projected margin of the porphyry molybdenite core intersected in TK20. Separately, a recently completed IP and MT geophysical survey is being processed by the company's contractor to produce 3D subsurface models intended to inform the design of the Phase 5 drill program.

Assay Results from TK20 Still Pending Amid Laboratory Backlogs

The company disclosed that assay results from hole TK20 remain outstanding, citing laboratory backlogs and the requirement to run multiple assay techniques to analyse an extensive list of elements including molybdenum, copper, gold, silver, and rhenium. No assay results from TK21 have yet been received. The immediate share price impact was not clear from available public information. Richard R. Redfern, M.Sc., Certified Professional Geologist, has verified and approved the technical information in the announcement as qualified person under National Instrument 43-101.
