Harfang Exploration Inc. (TSXV: HAR) has announced the submission of exploration permit applications for three of its properties — Sky Lake, Blakelock, and Menarik West — in anticipation of planned winter 2027 diamond drilling programs. The move advances what the company describes as some of the most important exploration opportunities in its portfolio. Investors may be watching closely, as the three programs span both Ontario and Québec and include a fully funded partnership drill with SOQUEM at Menarik West.
Key Points
- Harfang Exploration Inc. (TSXV: HAR) submitted exploration permit applications for Sky Lake, Blakelock, and Menarik West properties.
- Three diamond drill programs are planned for winter 2027, following up on recent exploration results and new high-priority targets.
- Sky Lake's 2025 program returned intercepts including 7.0 g/t Au over 18.0 metres and 4.5 g/t Au over 15.6 metres; Menarik West drilling is fully funded by SOQUEM.
- Investors should watch for permit approvals, updated geological models, and further community engagement updates ahead of the winter 2027 campaigns.
Sky Lake Follow-Up Drilling Targets Additional High-Grade Gold Shoots in the Koval Zone
The Sky Lake property, located 35 kilometres southwest of Pickle Lake, Ontario, is the site of planned follow-up drilling within the Koval Zone. Harfang's winter 2025 program returned high-grade gold intercepts of 7.0 g/t Au over 18.0 metres and 4.5 g/t Au over 15.6 metres. The upcoming winter 2027 program will focus on drilling along strike to test for additional mineralized shoots and expand the known system. The company is also working collaboratively with the Mishkeegogamang Ojibway Nation following completion of a Traditional Knowledge and Land Use Study, seeking to formalize the relationship ahead of the planned program.
Blakelock Maiden Drill Program to Test 25 Kilometres Along the Casa Berardi Deformation Zone
At Blakelock, located 50 kilometres west of Orezone's Casa Berardi Gold Mine in Ontario's Archean Abitibi region, Harfang is planning its maiden diamond drill program. The property encompasses approximately 25 kilometres of prospective ground along the Casa Berardi deformation zone, a major regional structure hosting multiple gold and polymetallic deposits. Since consolidating the asset through its November 2024 acquisition of NewOrigin Gold Corp., Harfang has compiled historical geological, geochemical, and geophysical data and has been acquiring new induced polarization geophysical information to build an updated three-dimensional geological model to guide drill-hole selection.
SOQUEM Partnership Fully Funds Menarik West Winter 2027 Drill Program in James Bay
At the Menarik West property in James Bay, Québec, the planned winter 2027 drill program will be fully funded by SOQUEM under the parties' Option and Joint Venture Agreement announced in July 2025. Harfang will act as operator of the program, which will target the Cox and Pierre zones among other high-priority areas identified through recent joint exploration. The fully funded nature of this program represents a capital-efficient path for Harfang to advance what the release describes as compelling targets at Menarik West.
