Sirios Resources Inc. (TSXV: SOI) (OTCQB: SIREF) (FSE: 377A) has announced the start of a 1,800-metre diamond drilling program at its Aquilon gold project in Eeyou Istchee James Bay, Quebec. The program, funded 51% by joint venture partner Sumitomo Metal Mining Canada and 49% by Sirios, comprises three new drill holes and the extension of two existing holes using a helicopter-supported rig. The campaign targets a large near-surface gold halo discovered during the 2025 drilling season, a development investors may be watching closely given the project's historically high-grade intercepts.

Key Points

  • Sirios Resources Inc. (TSXV: SOI) (OTCQB: SIREF) (FSE: 377A) is a Quebec-based gold exploration company
  • A 1,800-metre diamond drilling program has commenced at the Aquilon gold project in Eeyou Istchee James Bay, Quebec
  • The 2025-discovered gold halo extends more than 700 metres laterally and 300 metres in width; prior intercepts reached 298.2 metres grading 0.26 g/t Au
  • Investors may watch for assay results from the current program as the company evaluates the halo's full extent

Aquilon Gold Halo Discovery Drives 2026 Drill Campaign

The primary objective of the new program is to confirm the lateral and depth continuity of the large gold halo identified during Sirios's 2025 drilling program at Aquilon. According to the release, this near-surface halo extends more than 700 metres from south to north and over a width of 300 metres, dipping eastward based on geological and structural interpretation. Drill hole intervals of up to 298.2 metres grading 0.26 g/t Au were achieved in 2025. The halo sits less than 2 km southwest of the high-grade Lingo zone and 3 km from the Moman zone.

Sumitomo Joint Venture Structure and Project Scale at Aquilon

The Aquilon project is a joint venture in which Sumitomo Metal Mining Canada holds a 51% interest and Sirios holds 49%, with Sirios acting as operator. The project encompasses 140 Exclusive Exploration Rights covering 68 km² and is located 10 km south of the Laforge-1 hydroelectric power station, accessible by all-season roads. To date, 32 gold showings have been discovered on the property. Some of the highest-grade drill intercepts recorded in Quebec come from Aquilon, including 12,906.5 g/t Au over 0.2 m at the Lingo showing and 3,527.4 g/t Au over 0.4 m at the Moman showing, as previously disclosed in earlier press releases.

Qualified Person Sign-Off and Concurrent Cheechoo Exploration Activity

The scientific and technical content of the announcement was reviewed and approved by Roger Moar, P.Geo., a Qualified Person under National Instrument 43-101 and a Sirios employee, consistent with regulatory standards for Canadian mineral exploration disclosures. The release also notes that results from summer exploration at the company's Cheechoo gold deposit are beginning to come in, indicating concurrent activity across Sirios's project portfolio in the James Bay region, though no specific Cheechoo results were disclosed in this announcement.
