Torr Metals Inc. (TSXV: TMET) has released an interpretation and targeting update from its Phase II drill program at the Bertha North target within the 332 km² Kolos Copper-Gold Project in southern British Columbia. Drilling has confirmed copper-bearing breccias, mineralized structural corridors, and a pyrite-chalcopyrite-bearing intrusive phase in Hole 26-KO-04, providing vectors toward a priority target to the south interpreted as a potential causative intrusive source. With approximately 3,500 metres completed of a fully funded program of up to 6,000 metres, investors may be watching closely for pending laboratory assay results from the first two Phase II holes.
Key Points
- Torr Metals Inc. (TSXV: TMET) is advancing Phase II drilling at the Bertha North copper-gold porphyry target in southern British Columbia
- Hole 26-KO-04 intersected a magnetite-bearing intrusive dyke with disseminated pyrite-chalcopyrite within a 40.6 m brecciated and mineralized interval
- Approximately 3,500 m of up to 6,000 m drilled; assays for holes 26-KO-01 and 26-KO-02 are pending in the near term
- Planned holes KP_7 and KP_8 will test the southern structural convergence zone and the upper margin of the interpreted deep intrusive source
Hole 26-KO-04 Delivers Key Intrusive Vector at Bertha North
The most recent completed hole, 26-KO-04, represents the closest drilling to date to the interpreted intrusive source at Bertha North. Within a broader 40.6-metre interval of brecciated, hematized, and mineralized host volcanics from 429.2 to 469.8 metres, the hole intersected a discrete magnetite-bearing intrusive dyke with disseminated pyrite-chalcopyrite mineralization at approximately 460.5 metres. The company states this occurrence of sulphide-bearing intrusive material within the mineralized hydrothermal corridor provides an important vector toward the system's interpreted centre. All mineral and alteration identifications remain subject to petrographic, geochemical, and laboratory confirmation.
Converging Geophysical and Geochemical Signatures Define Southern Priority Target
Integration of drilling results with geophysics and surface geochemistry has focused attention on a priority target immediately south of current drilling. Strong copper-in-soil anomalism and mineralized structural corridors converge with overlapping magnetic, resistive, and chargeable signatures above a deep resistivity feature extending beyond 1,000 metres vertical depth, which the company interprets as a potential causative intrusive source. The release states that the outer pyritic chargeability halo borders the southern end of the target and wraps around the margins of the resistivity anomaly, reflecting sulphide-bearing hydrothermal alteration peripheral to the more resistive core of the system.
Assays Pending as Road Access Established for Follow-Up Holes KP_7 and KP_8
Laboratory assays from holes 26-KO-01 and 26-KO-02 remain pending, with the company citing extended turnaround times and anticipating results in the near term. Torr Metals states it is re-establishing historical exploration roads to access planned holes KP_7 and KP_8, designed to directly test the southern structural convergence zone and the upper margin of the interpreted deep intrusive source. The drill program remains fully funded. The company also announced adoption of semi-annual financial reporting under Coordinated Blanket Order 51-933, exempting it from filing quarterly interim financial statements for Q1 and Q3 periods.
