Azincourt Energy Corp. (TSXV:AAZ), a company engaged in uranium exploration, has announced that it has completed the data acquisition and compilation of historical data for its recently acquired Snegamook uranium project, located in Newfoundland and Labrador. The project contains known uranium mineralization and is strategically situated near several significant uranium discoveries, including the Two Time, Moran, Kitts, and Jacques Lake deposits.
Between 2006 and 2008, Silver Spruce Resources conducted drilling activities on the Snegamook Project, revealing multiple lenses of uranium mineralization over a 300-meter strike length and to a vertical depth of 200 meters. The results showed grades ranging from 225 to 771 ppm U3O8, with some zones displaying higher concentrations such as 0.11% U3O8 over 3 meters.
In 2008, a preliminary non-NI 43-101 compliant resource estimate was completed, but it was never officially filed. Azincourt Energy now plans to verify this historical data and expand the mineralization through a new drill program. The company intends to re-evaluate the Snegamook deposit and establish an initial resource estimate.
The Snegamook Project spans a 423-hectare mineral license block, consisting of 17 contiguous claims. Its proximity to large-scale uranium deposits in the area, such as the Two Time Zone, enhances its strategic value. Azincourt’s upcoming drilling program is expected to further assess the potential of the Snegamook Project and contribute to the exploration of uranium resources in the region.
