- Azincourt receives exploration permitting for its Snegamook Uranium Project in Newfoundland and Labrador
- The project includes up to 1,000 meters of helicopter-supported diamond drilling in 2025
- Historical drilling at Snegamook revealed shallow uranium lenses with grades up to 0.11% U3O8
Azincourt Energy Corp. (TSXV: AAZ) has announced that it has received permitting to begin an exploration program at its newly acquired Snegamook Uranium Project. The project, located in Canada’s Central Mineral Belt in Newfoundland and Labrador, is strategically positioned near the historical Two Time Zone uranium deposit, which holds an indicated and inferred resource of 5.55 million pounds of U3O8 (June 2008).
The Snegamook Uranium Project has demonstrated strong potential for further discoveries. Historical drilling has revealed shallow-dipping uranium lenses with grades reaching up to 0.11% U3O8. These findings suggest a promising opportunity to expand known mineralization in the area.
Azincourt’s planned 2025 work program will include site reconnaissance, a review of historical drill core, and up to 1,000 meters of helicopter-supported diamond drilling. This exploration effort aims to confirm and extend the uranium mineralization identified in previous drilling campaigns.
Located less than 1 km south of the Two Time Zone deposit, the Snegamook Project comprises 17 contiguous claims covering 423 hectares. The project area includes the "Snegamook Zone," a uranium occurrence identified by a radon gas anomaly. Four mineralized lenses have been traced along 300 meters of strike length and down to a vertical depth of 200 meters. These lenses are shallow-dipping (15 to 20 degrees west) and vary in width from five to 53 meters. Uranium values from these lenses range from 225 to 771 ppm U3O8, with individual one-meter samples returning values as high as 0.11% U3O8.
