- Income from operations during the quarter fell 71.4% and net income dropped 33.7% versus Q2 2024.

Altius Minerals Corporation (TSX:ALS) focuses on obtaining diversified mining royalties. It has interests in operations producing copper, zinc, nickel, cobalt, gold, silver, and potash.
In the second quarter of 2025 (Q2 2025), the company’s revenue stood at USD 9.8 million, compared to USD 19.5 million in the same period of 2024, representing a year-over-year decline of 49.7%. Income from operations during the period stood at USD 3.0 million versus USD 10.5 million last year, a fall of 71.4% due to dip in revenue. Income before income taxes decreased by 59.6% to USD 2.1 million from USD 5.2 million in Q2 2024. Net income was reported at USD 5.5 million, down 33.7% from USD 8.3 million in the previous corresponding period. The reduction in revenue was attributed to lower attributable potash volumes and reduced dividends from iron ore. The decline in income before taxes resulted from lower operating income and higher joint venture losses, partly offset by foreign exchange gains. Positive net income was primarily due to these factors, with negative income taxes providing partial offset.
Business Update
On October 15, 2025, the company announced that it expects to report Q3 2025 attributable royalty revenue of approximately CAD 21.2 million, compared to CAD 14.6 million in Q3 2024. This anticipated increase is mainly due to higher realized prices for copper and potash.
Outlook
The company states that the potash market has stabilized after a period of sharply higher prices. This rise had led to reduced short-term demand because farmers delayed applying soil nutrients necessary to replace depletion. This delay affected agricultural yields. Now, prices have settled at more affordable levels. Demand has rebounded and is aligning with long-term trendline forecasts.
