  • Anaergia’s subsidiary, Anaergia Technologies, adds C$8.6M in revenue from change order
  • Additional engineering services and equipment supply for Santee, California water purification
  • New equipment will support sustainable, local water production for East San Diego County

Anaergia Inc. (TSX: ANRG) has announced that its subsidiary, Anaergia Technologies LLC, has secured a change order to provide additional engineering services and supply key equipment for the East County Advanced Water Purification (AWP) Joint Powers Authority (JPA) project in Santee, California. This development builds on a previous contract disclosed in July 2023. The project, now under construction, aims to create a sustainable, drought-resistant water supply for East San Diego County, with operations expected to commence before the end of 2026.

The change order, valued at C$8.6 million, will see Anaergia supply critical equipment including a gas treatment system, combined heat and power (CHP) systems, and electrical components. The gas treatment system will cleanse biogas generated by anaerobic digesters, which will then be used to power the CHP units. These systems are essential for operating the water purification plant, reducing costs and improving sustainability by generating energy on-site.

Mark Niemiec, Director of the East County AWP JPA, emphasized that this step is crucial in meeting the region’s water needs while also driving down operational costs. The project is a part of a broader initiative to purify recycled water for local consumption, reducing the area's reliance on imported water and meeting up to 30% of the region’s drinking water needs.

Assaf Onn, CEO of Anaergia, highlighted that this change order demonstrates the company's integrated solutions and commitment to accelerating the clean energy transition. The project is expected to support the local water supply and further Anaergia's mission of transforming waste into valuable resources.
