CGI (TSX:GIB.A) announced the successful completion of its acquisition of Novatec, a prominent digital services company in Germany and Spain. The acquisition was executed through CGI Deutschland B.V. & Co. KG, a wholly owned limited partnership. Novatec, founded in 1996, specializes in business and IT consulting services, including cloud-based solutions, agile products, software development, and digital strategies.

The acquisition is expected to enhance CGI's capabilities in delivering cutting-edge digital solutions. Novatec’s expertise in application performance management will complement CGI’s existing portfolio, enabling both companies to advance digital innovation for their clients. The addition of Novatec's capabilities in AI and cloud services is seen as a key step in addressing the evolving needs of clients across various industries.

Ralf Bauer, President of CGI's Germany operations, emphasized that both companies share a results-driven culture centered on innovation and accountability. This shared focus is expected to help deliver valuable business solutions for clients in sectors such as automotive, manufacturing, and financial services.

Alberto Anaya, Senior Vice-President and Business Unit Leader for CGI Spain, highlighted the added value that Novatec’s team brings to CGI's local and global capabilities. With over 300 IT and consulting professionals now part of CGI, the acquisition also strengthens CGI’s presence in key regions such as the Stuttgart metro market and the South-West region of Germany, as well as in Granada, Spain.
