A small database company in focus
AGEDB Technology Ltd. (TSXV:AGET) is in focus because of a 22 October 2026 news release concerning a preliminary technical evaluation and a non-binding memorandum of understanding on graph database and AI data platform opportunities, according to a filings index. Its common shares trade on the TSX Venture Exchange as AGET.
Only the index summary of that release was available, so details such as the counterparty and commercial terms are not covered here.
What the company does
AGEDB is a Vancouver-based company incorporated on 25 March 2021 and publicly traded since December 2022. It builds database management software, including graph databases built on the open-source Apache AGE project, and has described itself as a hybrid database technology company. Products include AgensGraph, AGE and AGEDB Cloud, the Graphizer modelling tool, and analytics for uses such as Fraud detection.
Graph databases store records as connected nodes, which suits questions about relationships, such as links between accounts in a fraud investigation. Revenue also includes professional services such as data modelling and consulting.
The relevance of graph technology to artificial intelligence is that connected data can help systems retrieve context, which is why the 22 October 2026 release pairs graph databases with AI data platforms. Whether AGEDB can win Business in that field is untested, and the company has not disclosed customer contracts at a scale that would settle the question.
Financial position
For the fiscal year ended 30 April 2025, the figures show revenue of C$623.36 thousand, a net loss of C$1.95 million, negative Operating Cash Flow of C$1.48 million, total Assets of C$74.34 thousand and Negative equity of C$369.51 thousand.
The company has since filed amended audited statements for fiscal 2026 on 27 August 2026 and interim statements for the three months to 31 July 2026 on 29 September 2026.
The scale of the business is therefore small: revenue of roughly C$0.6 million against a net loss of roughly C$1.9 million means costs ran at about three times sales in that year. A turnaround would require either faster revenue growth or lower spending, and the filings for the latest quarter will show which direction the company has taken.
Capital structure moves
On 10 June 2025 the company proposed a share consolidation, and on 11 August 2025 its board decided not to proceed. At that date 42,383,200 shares were on issue and the stock closed at C$0.05. Later figures show 12,873,299 shares and a price of C$0.10, which is consistent with a consolidation having occurred since. A private Placement was announced as closed on 26 September 2025.
Analysis and risks
A memorandum of understanding that is non-binding does not oblige either side to proceed, and a preliminary evaluation is an early stage. The development is better read as a sign of commercial intent in AI-linked data infrastructure than as a contract.
The Balance Sheet is the larger concern. Negative equity, small assets and cash burn mean the company probably depends on further financing, which can dilute existing holders. It also competes with much larger database vendors and cloud providers, and relies on open-source software it does not control. Market data for micro-cap stocks can be stale and trading thin.
Milestones
Watch for a definitive agreement following the memorandum, the notice of meeting for the annual Shareholder meeting, quarterly results for the period to 31 October 2026, and any financing announcements.
