Global Commodity Market Wrap-Up

Global metals markets recorded mixed performance during the week. Gold declined 2.72%, while silver dropped 8.66%, reflecting pressure from changing interest rate expectations, US dollar movements and volatility in financial markets. Copper and lead fell 1.15% and 0.44%, respectively, while zinc gained 2.90%. For the current week, gold, silver, copper and lead indicate an upward directional outlook, whereas zinc points towards a weaker trend. Chinese industrial demand, global manufacturing activity and monetary policy expectations will remain key market drivers.

Energy and agricultural commodities delivered mixed performance during the week. Light Sweet Crude Oil gained 0.82%, while natural gas declined 4.98%. However, the current weekly outlook indicates a downward direction for crude oil and an upward direction for natural gas. In agricultural markets, soybean futures fell 2.70%, corn declined 1.81%, and US Sugar No. 11 dropped 4.35%, with all three indicating a downward directional outlook. Weather conditions, harvest progress, export demand and global supply expectations will continue influencing price movements.
