Value Portfolio Rebalancing - EXIT (TSX : EQB) and ENTRY (TSX : NFI)

1. Exit Case: EQB Inc. 

Overview:

EQB Inc. (TSX: EQB) formerly Equitable Group Inc. trades on the Toronto Stock Exchange TSX: EQB and serves over 360000 Canadians through its wholly owned subsidiary Equitable Bank Canadas Challenger Bank. Equitable Bank has grown to become the country’s eighth largest independent Schedule I bank with a clear mandate to drive real change in Canadian banking to enrich people’s lives.

EQB has been a part of the ‘Value Portfolio’ since 22 April 2025, however, considering decent rally in the share price of the stock, an ‘Exit’ is recommended from the stock at the price of CAD 103.70, as on 27^th June 2025.

2. New Entry Case: NFI Group Inc. 

Overview:  

NFI Group Inc. (TSX: NFI) is a Canadian automobile manufacturer. The company organizes itself into two segments: Manufacturing operations, and Aftermarket operations. Manufacturing operations, which represents more than half of the company's revenue, includes the manufacture of transit buses for public transportation, and motor coaches. Aftermarket operations include spare parts and servicing related to transit buses and motor coaches.

Technical Analysis: On the daily chart, NFI prices are trading above a trendline, indicating positive momentum. The 14-period Relative Strength Index (RSI) stands at approximately 78.47, reflecting a buying interest. Additionally, prices are positioned above the 20-period Simple Moving Average (SMA), which could serve as a support level. The key support for stock is at CAD 15.05, while the critical resistance level is at CAD 20.66.

Considering the above mentioned factors, technical analysis, support & resistance levels, an ‘Entry’ is recommended in the ‘Value Portfolio’ at the closing market price of CAD 17.51, as on 27^th June 2025.
