Aurwest Resources Corp. (CSE: AWR), a Canadian junior explorer focused on gold and uranium, has released Phase 1 assay results from its Weaver Lake Gold Property in southwestern British Columbia. The headline result — a grab sample returning 26.7 parts per million gold (0.78 oz/t) and 1,350 ppm silver — was collected approximately 130 metres east of the interpreted main vein system targeted by historical drilling. The results support an intermediate-sulfidation epithermal gold-silver system and are expected to inform a Phase 2 geophysical program at the property.
Key Points
- Aurwest Resources Corp. (CSE: AWR) is a Calgary-based junior resource company exploring gold and uranium assets in Canada.
- Phase 1 at Weaver Lake returned a top rock grab sample of 26.7 ppm gold and 1,350 ppm silver, alongside anomalous lead and zinc values.
- A total of 76 rock samples, approximately 247 soil samples, and nine stream-sediment samples were collected; multi-element results are still being evaluated.
- Investors may be watching whether Phase 2 geophysical surveys advance the property toward drill-ready targets under Aurwest's option agreement with Pacific Bay Minerals Ltd.
Phase 1 Rock Sampling Uncovers Broad Multi-Element Signature at Weaver Lake
Aurwest's 76-rock-sample program identified multiple mineralised intervals consistent with quartz-carbonate and sulphide veining. Beyond the headline sample 82133, additional results included sample 82737 returning 0.32 ppm gold, 80.3 ppm silver, 711 ppm lead, and 1,080 ppm zinc, while sample 82119 returned 0.45 ppm gold and 18.15 ppm silver. Higher-grade samples were associated with comb- and void-fill-textured quartz veins, generally two to ten centimetres thick with up to one percent pyrite. The strong gold-silver correlation and multi-element pathfinder suite — including antimony, lead, and arsenic — are interpreted as characteristic of an intermediate-sulfidation epithermal system.
Soil and Stream-Sediment Sampling Extends the Anomalous Zone Across Weaver Lake Drainages
The soil program, comprising approximately 247 samples, was designed to confirm and expand 1990s gold-in-soil anomalies using modern aqua regia multi-element analysis. The top soil result, sample 2376357, returned 0.36 ppm gold alongside 7.28 ppm silver, 145.5 ppm lead, and 29.8 ppm arsenic. Nine stream-sediment samples collected from principal drainages also returned supportive anomalies, with sample 2376442 assaying 40 ppb gold, 77.1 ppm lead, and 306 ppm zinc. The release states that these silt results align with regional British Columbia Geological Survey drainage anomalies and help vector toward source areas on the property.
Aurwest's Option Structure and Weaver Lake Property Position in British Columbia
Aurwest holds an option to earn a 50% interest in the Weaver Lake Gold Property over three years from Pacific Bay Minerals Ltd. (TSXV: PBM). The property's southwestern British Columbia location is noted in the announcement as favourable for year-round exploration activity. Aurwest also holds the Porter Lake uranium property in northern Saskatchewan, giving the company a two-asset exploration portfolio spanning precious metals and uranium.
