- Eaton (NYSE:ETN) reports before the open on November 3, 2026, with adjusted EPS consensus at USD 3.55. Third quarter guidance is USD 3.46 to USD 3.56, and Americas electrical orders rose 41 percent on a rolling basis.
- Talen Energy (NASDAQ:TLN) raised 2026 adjusted EBITDA guidance to USD 2.025 billion to USD 2.225 billion, and its third quarter is the first full quarter including the Cornerstone plants, against published consensus EPS of USD 8.31.
- Fortis (NYSE:FTS) will release a new 2027 to 2031 Capital outlook with third quarter results on November 3, 2026, replacing a 28.8 billion Canadian dollar plan, with a call set for 8:30 a.m. ET.
- MPLX (NYSE:MPLX) targets 12.5 percent annual distribution growth for 2026 and 2027, yet consensus EPS of USD 1.12 per unit is 26.3 percent below the USD 1.52 of a year earlier.
Eaton (NYSE:ETN): Orders Up 41 Percent, Bar Near the Top
Eaton (NYSE:ETN) reports before the open, and the calendar shows a Market Value near USD 146 billion, shown as USD 145.55 billion. Consensus of USD 3.55 sits one cent below the top of the guided range, so a clean beat requires the high end. Second quarter sales were a record USD 8.5 billion, adjusted EPS was USD 3.15 against USD 3.07 expected, and shares rose about 7.3 percent after that report. Electrical Backlog rose 43 percent and the third quarter guide includes organic growth of 13.5 percent to 15.5 percent and a segment Margin of 24.6 percent to 25.0 percent, up from 23.1 percent, a step of about 170 basis points at the midpoint, simple arithmetic. For read-through, Vertiv (NYSE:VRT) reported on October 28, 2026 with Revenue up 61.2 percent, and shares rose 15.2 percent, a strong sign for Data Center power Demand but a high benchmark. A 7 percent move would shift market value by about USD 10.2 billion, simple arithmetic, not options-implied.
Talen Energy (NASDAQ:TLN): The First Full Cornerstone Quarter
Talen Energy (NASDAQ:TLN) reports before the open on November 3, 2026. Published consensus is USD 8.31 on revenue near USD 1.35 billion, while the screener shows USD 7.46 and a whisper-style estimate is USD 8.70, so the bar is unsettled. First-half adjusted EBITDA was USD 847 million, so the second half needs about USD 1.18 billion to USD 1.38 billion, simple arithmetic on the guidance range. Management called a widened PPL zonal basis near USD 20 per megawatt hour, against a historical norm near USD 9, temporary. The Cornerstone plants add three facilities for a full quarter, and the fleet capacity Factor last quarter was 51 percent. A September 29 headline reported a USD 1.5 billion accelerated share repurchase. Shares were about USD 328 on October 26, below the 200-day average near USD 350. They rose 12.43 percent on October 6 on a Google power deal and fell 5.05 percent two days later. A bull case could retest USD 350, about 6.7 percent higher, simple arithmetic. A bear case is weak cash conversion or a wide PJM basis. No peer reactions were verified.
Fortis (NYSE:FTS): The Plan Matters More Than the Quarter
Fortis (NYSE:FTS) will release third quarter results and its 2027 to 2031 capital outlook on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, with a market value of about USD 29.89 billion on the screener. The screener EPS of 0.88 is about 0.10 above the June quarter's 0.78 Canadian dollars, though its currency is unverified. A regulated Utility earns an allowed return on its rate base, so a larger plan lifts Earnings only if Assets enter rates. Rate base is forecast to grow from 42.4 billion Canadian dollars in 2025 to 57.9 billion in 2030, about 7 percent a year, and annual Dividend growth is guided to 4 percent to 6 percent through 2030. British Columbia approved Tilbury Phase 1B on July 24, 2026, with a cost allowance of up to 2.2 billion Canadian dollars. S&P and Fitch both reported stable outlooks. Emera reports on November 6 and Hydro One on November 10, so no read-across exists yet. A 3 percent move on USD 29.89 billion is about USD 0.9 billion, simple arithmetic.
MPLX (NYSE:MPLX): Distribution Growth Versus a Tough Base Year
MPLX (NYSE:MPLX) reports before the open on November 3, 2026. Consensus EPS of USD 1.12 per unit compares with USD 1.06 in the second quarter, so the sequential change is modest, and consensus revenue of about USD 3.29 billion is down 9.1 percent from USD 3.62 billion. Second quarter adjusted EBITDA rose 5 percent to USD 1.8 billion, so interest and Depreciation on new assets deserve attention. The Partnership is fee-based, so growth comes from volumes: Harmon Creek III lifts processing capacity to 8.1 billion cubic feet per day, and 2026 capital spending was raised by USD 500 million to USD 2.9 billion. An October 27 distribution increase was announced, but the amount was not found. A bull case is EPS above USD 1.12 and units above the USD 60.95 post-earnings high, about 3.1 percent over a USD 59.13 preview price. A bear case is units toward the 200-day average of USD 57.08, about 3.5 percent lower. Kinder Morgan (NYSE:KMI) reported adjusted EPS of USD 0.35 against about USD 0.32 to USD 0.33 expected.
Where Things Stand
The most to prove sits with the names whose bars are tightest. Eaton (NYSE:ETN) needs the top of its guided range after a rally in a peer. Talen Energy (NASDAQ:TLN) must show that raised guidance converts to cash in its first full Cornerstone quarter. Fortis (NYSE:FTS) is judged on the new capital plan more than on one quarter, since utilities tend to move less on quarterly EPS than on guidance. MPLX (NYSE:MPLX) must show that a 12.5 percent distribution path survives a 26.3 percent drop in per unit earnings against a tough base year. All four are previews, not forecasts, and no options-implied moves were found.
