Colliers (TSX: CIGI), a global professional services and investment management firm, has announced that its Canadian engineering platform, Englobe Corporation, has reached an agreement to acquire Cambium Inc., an engineering consulting firm operating across Ontario. The move is expected to broaden Englobe’s presence in Canada’s largest provincial market and enhance service capabilities across multiple engineering disciplines.

Cambium, founded in 2006, employs approximately 235 professionals who provide geotechnical, environmental, and building sciences services, as well as construction monitoring. The company serves both public and private sector clients throughout Ontario, primarily within the corridor stretching from the Greater Toronto Area to Ottawa. The acquisition brings five Cambium offices into Englobe’s network, helping to extend the firm’s geographic reach across the province.

Under the terms of the agreement, Cambium’s senior leadership will become shareholders in Englobe through Colliers’ partnership structure. Financial details of the transaction have not been disclosed.

Elias Mulamoottil, Co-Chief Investment Officer at Colliers, described the transaction as a continuation of Colliers’ strategy to build out its Canadian engineering platform. “This is our fourth follow-on investment with Englobe in under a year and reflects our continued focus on scaling strategically in Ontario,” he stated. Mulamoottil also noted that Cambium’s decision to join was influenced by Colliers’ long-term growth model and partnership approach.

Mike Cormier, President of Englobe, commented that Cambium’s services and locations align well with Englobe’s existing operations. “Their presence across Ontario complements ours and enhances our ability to respond to client needs. We are pleased to integrate their professionals into our operations.”

John Desbiens, President and CEO of Cambium, said the decision to join Englobe was shaped by shared values and a focus on people and relationships. “We see this as a natural progression in our journey. The partnership will allow us to increase service depth and broaden opportunities for our team while accessing the wider resources available through Englobe and Colliers.”

This acquisition follows the creation of the Englobe platform, a move by Colliers to build a dedicated Canadian engineering division. Since its formation, Englobe has pursued a series of transactions aimed at expanding service lines and regional coverage across Canada
