Global Commodity Market Wrap-Up

Global metals maintained a broadly positive tone, with gold advancing 0.85%, silver rising 2.53%, copper gaining 0.47%, lead increasing 0.15% and zinc climbing 1.27%. The softer U.S. jobs backdrop and moderated expectations for further Federal Reserve tightening continue to influence precious metals. Market attention now shifts toward the FOMC minutes, with investors assessing policymakers’ views on inflation, employment and the future interest-rate path. U.S. building permits, housing starts and industrial production will also provide fresh signals on economic momentum.

Natural gas declined 1.20%, while Light Sweet Crude Oil recorded a 5.16% weekly gain as uncertainty surrounding U.S.-Iran relations and Strait of Hormuz shipping continued to influence energy markets. In agriculture, soybean advanced 1.38%, corn gained 4.60% and US Sugar No. 11 increased 0.91%. Markets will also monitor U.S. housing activity, jobless claims, manufacturing indicators and upcoming Federal Reserve policy signals. Developments around Hormuz, OPEC+ supply decisions, weather conditions and global crop demand remain important factors for commodity-market direction.
