Global Commodity Market Wrap-Up

Global metals maintained a broadly positive tone, with gold advancing to 5.48%, silver rising 6.84%, copper gaining 0.61%, lead increasing 0.10% and zinc climbing 1.90%. Expectations surrounding the Federal Reserve’s policy outlook and movements in the U.S. dollar continue to influence precious metals. Market attention now shifts toward the second estimate of U.S. Q2 GDP and New Home Sales, with investors assessing economic growth and housing-market conditions for signals on the future interest-rate path. Other upcoming economic indicators will also provide fresh signals on U.S. economic momentum.

Natural gas declined 1.47%, while Light Sweet Crude Oil recorded a 5.77% weekly gain as uncertainty surrounding U.S.-Iran relations and Strait of Hormuz shipping continued to influence energy markets. In agriculture, soybean advanced 3.94%, corn gained 5.23% and US Sugar No. 11 increased 6.08%. Markets will also monitor developments around Hormuz, OPEC+ supply decisions, weather conditions and global crop demand, which remain important factors for commodity-market direction.
