Global Commodity Market Wrap-Up

Global commodity markets traded mixed as easing geopolitical tensions following the Iran-Israel ceasefire reduced safe-haven demand and improved overall risk sentiment. Gold gained 0.70%, silver advanced 2.33%, copper climbed 0.88%, lead slipped 0.34%, while zinc rose 1.82%. Investors are now shifting focus to the upcoming U.S. ISM Non-Manufacturing PMI and the Federal Reserve meeting minutes, which could provide fresh clues on the U.S. economic outlook and the future path of interest rates, potentially driving near-term commodity price movements.

Natural gas declined 4.06% during the week as milder weather forecasts and softer demand expectations weighed on prices. Crude oil slipped 0.06% after OPEC+ approved another production increase for August, while improving exports through the Strait of Hormuz and the continuation of the U.S.-Iran ceasefire eased immediate supply concerns across the Middle East. Meanwhile, U.S. sugar advanced 2.34%, supported by balanced supply-demand fundamentals. Energy markets remain focused on geopolitical developments, OPEC+ production policy, and regional shipping activity for fresh direction.
