Global Commodity Market Wrap-Up

Global metals markets remained mixed, with gold declining 1.18%, silver falling 1.53%, copper gaining 0.90%, lead edging down 0.02%, and zinc climbing 1.61%. Precious metals remained under pressure amid a stronger U.S. dollar, weighing on overall investor sentiment. Market attention now shifts toward upcoming U.S. Unemployment Claims and CPI m/m data, with investors assessing labour-market conditions and inflation trends for further clues on the future interest-rate path.

Natural gas increased 3.01%, while Light Sweet Crude Oil recorded a 9.69% weekly decline, as uncertainty surrounding U.S.-Iran relations and shipping through the Strait of Hormuz continued to influence energy markets. Crude prices later moved higher after a U.S. attack on an Iranian island triggered retaliation from Tehran, raising concerns over potential disruptions to global oil supplies. In agriculture, soybean advanced 1.37%, corn gained 0.05%, while US Sugar No. 11 gained 2.90%.
