Vecima Networks Inc. (TSX: VCM) will introduce its new cloud-based Entra vPON Manager platform at the Fiber Connect event this week. The platform supports XGS-PON technology with enhanced management capabilities tailored for multi-dwelling unit (MDU) environments.

The Entra vPON Manager offers operators subscriber management and service provisioning tools integrated with back-office systems to support MDU subscribers efficiently. A key feature is the integration with the Service Activation Center (SAC) from Incognito Software Systems Inc., which facilitates multi-tenant ONU port activation and provisioning within Vecima’s All-PON™ solution.

The platform operates within the Entra® Open Network Ecosystem, which supports the Hitron NOVA2208 ONU device. This device is specifically designed for MDU and business subscribers, providing up to eight subscriber service ports and acting as a managed demarcation point. It also supports in-building service distribution and customer gateways compliant with TR-069/USP-369 standards.

Craig Sinasac, Head of Product at Incognito, highlighted that the SAC integration with Vecima and Hitron targets the requirements of MDU deployments, aiming to accelerate subscriber onboarding and simplify back-office processes.

Dave Michaud, Vice President of Engineering at Hitron Technologies, noted that Hitron’s partnership with Vecima through the Open Network Ecosystem allows them to expand solutions for both single-family and multi-dwelling units, including the newly introduced NOVA2208.

Vijay Raman, Vecima’s Vice President of PON Product Line Management, described the Entra EXS1610 All-PON™ Shelf as the first ITU-PON platform supported by Entra vPON Manager, combining scalability with operational simplicity for fiber-to-the-home deployments and multiple customer segments.
