Avanti Gold Corp. (CSE: AGC) has released additional assay results from its 2026 Phase I diamond drilling program at the Akyanga Deposit within the Misisi Project in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Three drill holes totalling 1,076.90 metres returned multiple zones of gold mineralisation, with standout intercepts of 12.27 m at 5.39 g/t Au and 17.25 m at 2.44 g/t Au. The results, which extend both within and below the US$1,500/oz pit shell constraining the current Mineral Resource Estimate, are expected to refine the company's geological model and inform Phase II targeting.

Key Points

  • Avanti Gold Corp. (CSE: AGC, FSE: X370, OTCQB: AVTGF) released Phase I drill assay results from the Akyanga Deposit, DRC
  • Drill holes MSDD0154, MSDD0155, and MSDD0156 totalled 1,076.90 metres across the northeastern portion of the deposit
  • Best intercepts: MSDD0156 returned 12.27 m at 5.39 g/t Au including 3.78 m at 12.88 g/t Au; MSDD0154 returned 17.25 m at 2.44 g/t Au
  • Investors may be watching for Phase II drilling commencement and an updated Mineral Resource Estimate for Akyanga

Phase I Drill Holes Deliver Multiple Mineralised Intervals at Akyanga

The three reported holes — MSDD0154, MSDD0155, and MSDD0156 — each intersected multiple gold-bearing zones in the northeastern portion of the Akyanga Deposit. MSDD0156 delivered the strongest result, grading 12.27 m at 5.39 g/t Au from 270.60 m depth, with a higher-grade sub-interval of 3.78 m at 12.88 g/t Au. MSDD0154 returned 17.25 m at 2.44 g/t Au from 229.00 m, while MSDD0155 intersected 15.70 m at 2.17 g/t Au from 297.30 m. Avanti's disclosure notes these intercepts occur both within and below the pit-constrained resource boundary, suggesting the mineralised system has scope beyond the current estimate.

Results to Feed Geological Model Refinement and Phase II Targeting

According to the release, the 409 samples from the three holes were submitted for analysis at the independent SGS laboratory in Mwanza, Tanzania. Drill core was processed using standard fire assay methodology on 50-gram aliquots, with screen fire assays used as check assays on selected high-grade samples. Certified reference materials, blanks, and duplicates were inserted into the sample stream as part of the company's QA/QC program. Avanti states that the results will be incorporated into the evolving geological model to refine follow-up drilling and support future resource modelling and technical studies.

Akyanga Deposit Context Within the Broader Misisi Project

The Akyanga Deposit currently holds an NI 43-101 compliant Inferred Mineral Resource of 40.8 million tonnes averaging 2.37 g/t Au, containing 3.11 million ounces of gold. The resource extends to a vertical depth of 350 metres over a 2,100-metre strike length, with mineralisation described as remaining open at depth and along strike. The Misisi Project spans three contiguous 30-year mining leases covering 133 square kilometres along the Kibara Gold Belt in South Kivu province, DRC. A 42,000-metre drill program — described as the largest in the project's history — is currently underway.
