Hillcrest Energy Technologies Ltd. (CSE: HEAT)(OTCQB: HLRTF)(FSE: 7HI) announced that Chief Operating Officer Jamie Hogue and Vice President of Engineering Dr. Emanuel Serban will attend the Open Compute Project Global Summit in San Jose, California, from October 12 to 15, 2026. The team will engage with hyperscale operators, equipment manufacturers, and suppliers focused on next-generation datacentre power infrastructure. The appearance builds on a technical paper released in July 2026 highlighting the company's proprietary Zero Voltage Switching technology and its potential application in high-density AI datacentres.
Key Points
- Hillcrest Energy Technologies Ltd. (CSE: HEAT) is a Vancouver-based clean technology company developing advanced power conversion systems
- COO Jamie Hogue and VP Engineering Dr. Emanuel Serban will attend the OCP Global Summit, October 12–15, 2026, in San Jose, California
- The company's PCS1000 — a 250 kW, liquid-cooled, 800V DC power conversion module — is currently at the prototype stage
- Investors may be watching for updates on commercial or technical partnerships stemming from the summit engagement
Hillcrest's July 2026 Technical Paper Sets the Stage at OCP
Hillcrest's summit attendance follows the July 2026 release of a technical paper authored by Dr. Serban, titled "Simplified 800V Power Supply Architecture for 99%+ Efficient Data Centers." The paper compares a conventional two-stage 800V power supply design against a simplified single-stage architecture built on Hillcrest's Zero Voltage Switching technology. Key findings indicate the single-stage design achieves approximately 99% AC-DC conversion efficiency — up to 99.2% — compared with approximately 98% for the conventional approach, while retaining the two galvanic isolation barriers that datacentres require.
PCS1000 Platform Targets 800V DC Datacentre Power Delivery
Hillcrest's ZVS PCS1000 is built on the single-stage architecture described in the technical paper. The release states the module is a 250 kW, liquid-cooled, 800V DC sidecar power conversion unit currently at the prototype stage. The single-stage design removes an intermediate isolated DC-DC conversion stage, reducing component count, lowering thermal load, and decreasing hardware complexity. At the OCP summit, Ms. Hogue and Dr. Serban plan to build relationships with industry participants to support future commercial and technical discussions around the PCS1000 platform.
ZVS Technology Validated With Automotive Partners, Now Targeting Datacentres
The company's Zero Voltage Switching technology has previously been validated at the facilities of global automotive original equipment manufacturers and Tier One suppliers. Hillcrest states the PCS1000 applies this same core technology to the interface between the grid and the 800V DC bus. According to the announcement, ZVS reduces switching losses, enables higher switching frequencies, and lowers both electromagnetic interference and thermal stress on power semiconductors — characteristics the company believes are directly applicable to the growing energy demands of AI-driven datacentre infrastructure.
