Norsemont Mining Inc. (CSE: NOM, OTC: NRRSF, FWB: LXZ1) has reported assay results from eight additional drill holes — MV25-DD06 through MV26-DD13 — at its 100%-owned Choquelimpie gold-silver-copper project in northern Chile. The standout result is a 41-metre intercept averaging 4.59 g/t gold in hole DD13, which the company describes as the highest-grade interval intersected so far during the Phase 3 programme. With 16 core holes completed in 2026 totalling 4,100 metres drilled, investors may be watching closely as over-limit re-assays for silver and base metals remain pending for several holes.
Key Points
- Norsemont Mining Inc. (CSE: NOM, OTC: NRRSF, FWB: LXZ1) operates the Choquelimpie gold-silver-copper project in northern Chile
- Hole DD13 returned 41 metres at 4.59 g/t gold, including 18 metres at 9.7 g/t gold — the Phase 3 programme's highest-grade interval to date
- Phase 3 drilling commenced mid-April 2026; 16 holes totalling 4,100 metres completed as of this announcement
- Over-limit re-assays for silver, lead, and zinc remain pending for multiple holes, with results anticipated on a regular basis going forward
DD13 Delivers Phase 3 Programme's Best Gold Result in the Vizcacha Zone
Hole MV26-DD13, drilled into the central portion of the Vizcacha Zone, intersected 41 metres averaging 4.59 g/t gold, including a higher-grade sub-interval of 18 metres at 9.7 g/t gold. The mineralisation is hosted in highly brecciated, fractured, and altered hydrothermal breccia. The release states the hole was abandoned at 88.5 metres due to difficult down-hole conditions, yet still delivered what the company characterises as one of the strongest gold intervals drilled to date at Choquelimpie. CEO Marc Levy noted the result further supports near-surface gold mineralisation in the Vizcacha Zone and the broader porphyry potential of the district at depth.
Additional Holes Extend Mineralisation Across Multiple Zones at Choquelimpie
Beyond DD13, the release highlights meaningful results from holes DD07, DD10, and DD11. Hole DD11 intersected 39 metres of gold, silver, and base-metal mineralisation hosted in clay-alunite-sulfide altered dacite-andesite porphyry and hydrothermal breccia, including 12 metres at 2.46 g/t gold-equivalent. Hole DD07 returned two mineralised intervals of 39 metres and 12 metres within quartz-mica-sulfide altered porphyry, expanding mineralisation into an area of the 2025 resource model where no prior block grades had been calculated. Three step-out holes — DD06, DD08, and DD12 — did not intersect relevant precious- or base-metal mineralisation.
Assay Backlogs and a Second Laboratory Engagement Shape Near-Term Data Flow
The release acknowledges that a large backlog of geochemical samples in Chile accumulated from June through August 2026, compounded by inclement weather that affected laboratory throughput. To address turnaround times, Norsemont has engaged a second laboratory, ALS, to process a portion of core samples alongside primary laboratory Activation Geological Services SpA, which holds ISO 17025 certification. The company states it believes much of the backlog has been relieved. Choquelimpie hosts an existing resource of 81.9 Mt at 0.66 g/t gold (indicated) and 25.3 Mt at 0.55 g/t gold (inferred), and is a past-producing mine with substantial on-site infrastructure including a previously operational 3,000-tonne-per-day mill.
