Ruvidar® Primary and Secondary Endpoint Results in Study II
Of 93 patients assessed for the primary endpoint — complete response at any point in time — 60 achieved a complete response, representing 64.5% (95% CI: 49.2, 79.9), while total response including indeterminate responses reached 73.1%. For the secondary endpoint measuring duration of complete response at 450 days, 22 of 54 assessed patients (40.7%) maintained their complete response, with a median duration of response of 14.9 months (95% CI: 12.1, 17.7). Extended follow-up data showed 22.4% of patients maintained a complete response at two years and 18.4% at three years post-procedure.
Safety Profile and Adverse Events Across the Patient Cohort
All 87 patients who completed Study II met the tertiary safety endpoint. Treatment emergent adverse events were recorded but did not reach serious adverse event criteria; these included hematuria (47.9%), urinary frequency (39.5%), and urinary urgency (32.3%), with median resolution times of 15, 36, and 43 days respectively. The release also documents 25 serious adverse events — 1 Grade I, 3 Grade II, 14 Grade III, 4 Grade IV (all resolved within 1 to 82 days), and 3 Grade V — with 92% of those classified as not treatment emergent. Theralase® states the interim results support an acceptable safety profile for Ruvidar®.
Regulatory Submissions and Oncology Pipeline Expansion
Theralase® is preparing a New Drug Submission for Health Canada and a New Drug Application for the U.S. FDA, with marketing decisions anticipated in 2027. In parallel, the company is advancing GLP toxicology studies for Rutherrin®, expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2027, targeting Glioblastoma Multiforme, Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer, and Muscle Invasive Bladder Cancer. The company also disclosed plans to begin GLP toxicology studies for topical Ruvidar® targeting HSV-1 derived cold sores, with adaptive clinical studies intended to follow, subject to regulatory approval.
